Biography

Sonia O’Bryan earned her B.S. in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Education Endorsement at Bemidji State University, both her M.A. in Education in Literacy, Language, & Culture (BIED) and Education Leadership-Principal Endorsement at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO and her Education Doctorate in K-12 Educational Administration and Leadership from St. Cloud University. She has been in education since 1997 as a former elementary teacher, reading specialist, ELL teacher, and Literacy Coach. She is currently an associate professor of education at Bemidji State University, teaching in the undergraduate education program in the areas of literacy, creative arts, introduction to education, and being a professional teacher. As a literacy specialist, children’s literature is where her writing interests lie. She is a published author of two children’s books Heavenly Father, Will You Be My Daddy? and Amelia Grace’s Forever Home.
